Profile
“Good governance leads to better decisions, better relationships, and better organizations, communities and governments.”
~ Diana L. Bacon
While earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Community Economic Development, specializing in Governance, I was introduced to parliamentary procedure in a leadership course. During my research and while writing The Influence of Good Governance on Organization Accomplishment, I was curious as to how adults learn so that I may help others learn good governance practices. I further studied and earned the nationally recognized credential, Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) designed for professional training instructors.
During my leadership studies, I was introduced to parliamentary procedure. I continued to learn and practise proper meeting procedures, then I passed the required courses and exams to obtain the highest accreditation, Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP), through the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP). I continue to provide professional governance and meeting procedure consulting, coaching, and training to organizations.
I created the Meeting Literacy™ Academy to provide accessible interactive online training to groups and individuals to learn good governance and democratic decision making procedures. The courses and programs develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies of an individual to fully participate in the democratic decision-making process. The quality of governance influences the potential and accomplishment of organizations. The success of an organization ultimately depends on the knowledge and skills that individuals bring to the seat at the table.
My mission is to help leaders communicate with clarity, confidence, and credibility.
“Diana is knowledgeable, professional and offers insights that really benefit the organization. I would highly recommend her to any organization that is looking for ways to effectively run their organization.”
